Bought by Sportingbet Plc in 2005 and given a general re-vamp had helped Paradise Poker face up to and hold it’s own against other bigger names, but the introduction of the UIGEA in the states took it’s toll on Paradise Poker and a large chunk of US players were lost. The bounce back has been steady and progressive and with the financial backing of the Sportingbet has managed to stay focused on it’s true talent and passion namely Poker.
Software
With the software change to Boss Media, Paradise Poker has managed to keep players interested and logged on, which is a bonus considering that the online Poker market is a hard fought for commodity. The bulk of the Poker played here is medium level Poker which really does offer something for everyone.
The low limit games and tournaments here are just brilliant and with a start in for as little at $1 they are popular too. The play atmosphere is very laid back and totally loose in comparison with other sites. What really makes this a good place to be is the lack of massive tournaments and huge Poker names. This really will appeal to the real player that is in it for the game rather than the fame.
Tournaments
With that said, there are plenty of bigger tournaments here too with the Paradise Poker League tournament, Aussie Millions and the recently added Greek Poker tour. Freeroll tournaments play a key role to most of our games, and they come in thick and fast at Paradise Poker with both New player €10,000 First Time Freeroll and €8,000 Loyalty Freerolls.
Loyalty Points
There is NO loyalty program here but there is the Paradise Players Club that more or less does the same job and a Players club premium which is points focused. Loyalty points are awarded and the payout is not bad with 1 Frequent Play Point (FPP) on every €0,25 you rake. First Deposit bonus is up to €1,000 at 200% deposit match and reload bonuses of 150%.
Poker School
This is not the best Poker School online, but for what it is it’s OK. Logging on to Dave Hold’em and getting his top tips is helpful but doesn’t go too deep into the actual game strategy. It does however offer good basic advice that will/should keep you out of trouble.
Summary
It has to be said that I like Paradise Poker because it’s a relative uncomplicated site that makes me want to play Poker. The low limit games and tournaments here are just made to be played and enjoyed by most standards of play. Serious top level players won’t take to it easily, but that’s also why I like it here. ….Register here!
