Bored? Then don’t play!
I spoke to a friend of mine that is a serious Poker player and just one step away from becoming a pro player, and asked what the biggest cause of killing your Bankroll as an online player with little experience. At this point I had convinced myself that the answer was going to be over confidence in my abilities, or just not enough experience, but when he said “boredom” I was surprised.
Playing online or offline Poker when you are bored changes the status of the game from fun to forced entertainment, which will lead to you making mistakes that you normally wouldn’t and send you into a game of unpractised play just to force the action.
That’s when the bankroll starts to disappear and stupidity takes over. Playing Poker when you want to changes your general outlay on the game and puts you in player friendly frame of mind. You want to play so you concentrate, you want to win so you play the long game, and more importantly you would know when to walk away.

Never Bluff a bluffer Practice makes perfect and the way that I have been practising my new found Poker skills of late also makes me poorer. All through this editorial about my transition into Poker I have been preaching that practice makes perfect and that Freerolls are your friend, so why did I dis-regard that

Poker Odds I can work with There aren’t many that’s for sure, if this had been a test at school then I would have failed with spectacular ease, and I haven’t even got to the Pot odds yet. I get the concept but still haven’t found a way that I can use quick enough for

At odds with Poker Odds I get the theory and I understand the explanation of the odds and how they work, but I am struggling to get the practical side working. The dice idea is a good one and really does simplify how to do it, but take 52 cards and start the calculations is

Poker training has it’s uses OK, skipping the chapters and thinking that two weeks into my training I am a contender for the WSOP might have been a mistake, but the $15 that I have just lost in a live game has given me an idea regarding the training, and that idea is technology. There

Entering the world of Flushes, Flops and Folds OK, this is the easy part of my Poker training and chapters that I can happily skip. A Royal Flush beats Four of a kind which beats a Full House which is better than 2 pairs etc etc etc. But getting a Royal Flush and not giggling

When “Fish” meet Sharks
Being new to any game is not easy, and less so when you are known as Geese, Sheep or Fish. One of the biggest milestones in the game of poker is when you qualify from Geese and Sheep and become the Fish, then you have to pay attention, because this is when you start swimming with the sharks, and by this I don’t mean James Woods from Hollywood Poker. The biggest challenges for any newbie is to improve with experience, or avoiding playing the right cards at the wrong moment. Earning your fins is not as tough as you think and using the FREE online poker tools at your disposal, is essential to getting better without losing all of your money. Freeroll tournaments are a perfect way to getting the experience at no cost to you. There are loads of Freeroll games played at most sites. Check out our listed Freeroll sites.
Learning how to play the right hand at the right time is just as easy, but may take a bit longer, as this requires doing some research and study. Using the FREE online Poker school is a great way to do this. Most sites have written documentation, Video poker and professional advice to make each play easier. Understanding the complete working of the Poker odds and probabilities might talk a while, but the basics of pot odds or what to play when should be easy and very quick to pick up.
There is plenty of advice and tips to making you a better player, but as a beginner this is GirlClubPoker’s rule number one; “Learn to leave the table”. Sitting at a table when you are being outplayed, outclassed or just unlucky is stupid. Thinking that you can recoup your loses and get your money back if you just stay at the table is the biggest mistake most newcomers make. Walk away or take a break, because Poker is about playing to your limits.

Daily Poker heads-up
Betting or raising your hand is nearly always better than just calling. Calling limits the ways in which you can win to just having the best hand. However, if you bet or raise, then you have just increased you chances of winning two fold, as your opponent might think that you have more on offer than you do and fold. If she isn’t intimidated and doesn’t fold, then you still might have the best hand. In this move, aggression is the key, so play hard. -
